KNOW THINGS INSIDE OUT
I have been writing product news for many years, and I have some experience to share. However, writing a commercial article is different from being a real journalist.
I have to say that you don’t write it for end-users or readers. There are some barriers in front of you to review your article before releasing it.
The first one would be the product manager if your company did have a guy in charge of the product you mention on the news. The product manager should review your article to see if it meets the specifications or reveals wrong information.
Secondly, don’t surprise your supervisor; make sure they understand all the writing. No violation of any company policies, so as not to annoy the big boss if your supervisor cannot explain the content.
All in all, you write it for the big boss of your company, especially if your boss is a micromanager. Cheers!
Let’s Recap!
Internal opinions first
Work with the product manager to ensure the specifications are correct and can be spoken to the public.
Help your supervisor to manage upward.
The most important is to ask for approval and comments from the big boss or the c-suit who speaks to the public.
